RULES VERY ODD TOURNAMENT

  1. Matches will be played in two pools. Every team will play at least three (3) matches. The winners of each poule will play the final.

  2. Points allocation per game will be as follows:

  3. Five (3) points for a win.

  4. One (1) point for a draw.

  5. Zero (0) points for a loss.

  6. It is anticipated that each round in pool play will take no longer than 45 minutes with the following guidelines:

  7. The captains’ briefing will be at 09:15. One player from each team MUST attend.

  8. The first game will commence at 09:30.

  9. Each innings will take no longer than 20 minutes with five (5) minutes to change innings.

  10. Each game will take no longer than 45 minutes.

  11. The bye teams will be expected to help umpire the other matches (please see schedule for duties) & help retrieve the ball when going out the field to make sure we finish on time.

  12. Where there are weather interruptions, the tournament committee will amend format as appropriate.

Seven a Side Playing RulesPlease read and understand the rules before play begins.

  1. A maximum of seven nominated players are eligible to play each game.

  2. A match shall consist of five over innings (one innings per side, six ****balls per over.)

  3. Bowlers must not bowl off more than a six (6) pace run up.

  4. We only bowl from one side – The parking lot end (field 1) or club house end (field 2).

  5. Batsmen to retire immediately if they have scored 25.

  6. Retired batsmen can return after the fall of the last wicket.

  7. Batsmen must also be rotated in the batting order during the group stages (that is if a batsman has opened the innings in one match, they cannot bat higher than no. 3 for any of the remaining group matches).

  8. The batting team shall be awarded four (4) runs for each wide or no ball bowled.

  9. Wides and no balls will only be re-bowled in the fifth and final over of the innings.

  10. We will play "last man standing":

  11. If the sixth wicket falls a retired batsmen can bat again until dismissed.

  12. If the sixth wicket falls, the remaining not out batsman takes the strike and the dismissed batman remains as a runner only.

  13. If a single or three is run; once the runs are complete and both runners are safe, the not out batsman returns to the striking end to face the next delivery.

  14. If the not out batsman is dismissed or the runner is run out, the innings is complete.

  15. Each team, before each game, must nominate 1 player and a wicketkeeper who shall not bowl, the other players must bowl one over each.

  16. The team scoring the most runs in the match will be declared the winner.

  17. The match will be deemed completed when (and if) the team batting second scores more than the team batting first.

  18. When two teams end with same points, the team with most scored runs in all matches will end on top. If the two teams have the same total score, the team with the loss of the least amount of wickets will end on top.

  19. A ball bowled down a batsman’s leg side without touching his equipment or clothing will be called a wide
